“The Washington Schools Risk Management Pool exists so that our members will have secure, long-term protection, tailored to education, against property and liability loss at comparable cost and efficiencies.”

That is our mission statement.  The key in successfully sustaining our mission has been our financial stability.  This is the corner stone that has allowed us to build an innovative and comprehensive coverage program - connected to litigation management that is outstanding and proactive - and loss control services that anticipate liability exposures and provide solutions.

Our financial stability is evidenced by:

  • Exceeding the solvency standards for municipal joint insurance risk pools as established by WAC’s and overseen by the State Risk Manager
  • Twenty-five years of Pool existence without an audit finding by the State Auditor
  • Never experiencing a funding shortfall requiring us to reassess our membership
  • Recognition by the Association of Government Risk Pools (AGRIP), a national accreditation organization for public sector risk pools, for achieving compliance with the nationally recognized Advisory Standards
